Problem
We had issues ranging from: - communication with customers (UISP only supports SMS/Email notifications for payment and invoice related events) - hardware compatibility (UISP doesn't really have good support for equipment not manufactured by Ubiquiti) - Payment automation (we primarily use M-PESA and were forced to develop our own plugin, but it was tedious having to work on updates) - Prepaid payments (UISP doesn't really support this very well, we had clients disconnected before or well after due dates. This was a big issue for us since our client base is almost 95% prepaid.)
Why Splynx?
We came across a solution that solved all our current issues and had features that we were planning for in the future. We try not to vendor lock ourselves but the growth of Splynx and MikroTik, and the open nature of both platforms have given us reason not to look elsewhere.
Results from working with us
Full integration into Mikrotik. We got features like contention, that we really needed that ended up reducing our costs for backhaul bandwith after a proper setup. We discovered we didn't need as much capacity for the current client base and ended up onboarding a whole lot more people. What would have been spent on additional capacity when into customer acquisition (marketing etc). I would say automation has allowed all employees to focus on their tasks and grow the company in a way that is streamlined, always knowing what to do next before we get there.
