Improve Bundles Service Experience

  2. If you have early termination and contract charges, you have to manually issue credit notes.

  4. You are left to calculate manually how much the client is expected to pay as the difference. At this point, it's tedious not user-friendly, and prone to errors/omissions in the upgrade process.

Lead workflow/pipeline automation

We would like lead workflow automation. In other words, the ability to define certain automatic actions based on the lead pipeline stage a lead is in.

If we move a lead to the "Applied" stage for instance an email gets fired off to the client acknowledging our receipt of their application. Or, when we place the lead in the "vetting" stage a task is created to the finance team to perform vetting. Lead stages should also automatically assign the lead to the relevant persons to process that lead stage OR be linked to the scheduling module meaning a lead stage progresses a particular task to a new stage of the project. This way we can easily assign leads to various departments so that they may perform their particular portion of the process of getting a client connected.

Hi Splynx

I have an idea/suggestion.

Currently, our support team uses a site called macvendors.com to search and identify the clients’ router model based on the mac address translated via TCP/IP. The site only provides the manufacturer/vendor of the router, but this can significantly help with the support process.

The mac shows on Splynx –> Customers –> Statistics –> Internet

macvendors.com has API that can allow for a call and response to be made to display a result: the device/router’s manufacturer.

My suggestion is to include a device manufacturer column next to the MAC column, displaying the manufacturer of the connected device to assist support staff in helping clients by knowing their router manufacturer.

I have included some code below. Please let me know what you think and if the Splynx team would also find this useful.

Additional Customer Contacts aka "Contact book"

  1. It would be great if we had tue ability to add contact persons in Splynx. Basically what I am requesting is the ability to create people as contacts, set their email, phone, alternate phone and even their role e.g. billing, technical etc for a particular clients.
  2. It would also be handy if it would be possible to set each of the customer contacts contact preferences such as sms and email and whether to receive payment reminders etc.

The current method of adding multiple phone numbers and emails via comma delimitation leaves much to be desired. It is impossible to know who a numver belongs to and for SMS purposes, having a landline number in the phone number field is an issue as some sms providers will make you pay even if no sms was sent.

Having individual contacts could also bring about the possibility of trackin when a person has a birthday and by means of additional fields it would be possible to store their interests for marketing purposes.

Integration of CGNAT user tracking with IPFIX or Netflow. As more and more customers have to use CGNAT or NAT444 because of IPv4 address space exhaustion. Many jurisdiction require user tracking for such customers. This can be done with logging IPFIX packets in some logger, like Graylog, but after logas are collected is rather difficult to find required information. Information requests usually include public ip with source and destination ports and time. With this information ISP need to be able to tell authorities from which customer connection was made. There is also minimal time period for which you have to hold the information.

Cancellation process

Cancellations are where we sometimes drop the ball. Often times, a client will cancel and we'll do everything right. Or we think we do. Only to later find out we never cancelled the service from our upstream provider (FNO) or we forgot to set the service end-date on Splynx.

Cancellations have a workflow which need to be meticulously followed or it will cost the ISP money. An undetected slip-up can literally cost an ISP thousands of Rand (or whatever currency you work in).

Although we could potentially use scheduling for this, I think a more integrated approach is required to ensure that everything is done right. A cancellation protocol if you will with parameters such as notice period, task checklists. What happens to the customer account? Do we terminate the whole account or just certain services. Who gets reminded and who needs to do what. Perhaps a status or progress indicator. Related tickets etc.

We have literally lost thousands because it is very easy to forget to cancel the FNO's service. We tend to keep cancellation tickets open but this isn't the ideal. They get mixed-in with other tickets and they are overlooked (not necessarily forgotten). But they don't come with dates and reminders or checklists.

A dedicated cancellation workflow will really be a fantastic assistant and money saver.

Voice Number Pool

What I would like to see is something similar to IP pools, in that you can load numbers in to the pool, then, assign a number to a Voice subscription. This way, you avoid dupes and ensure that calls rate correctly based on source.

Currently the agents module calculates commissions based on the first invoice. However there are often other charges on the first invoice and the first invoice usually is a prorated invoice. This means agent commissions are calculated incorrectly.

We want to pay a commission based on the service price only and only once the client's invoice is fully paid. Using the first invoice won't achieve this.

Costumer when signing up will be able to add there address or drag the arrow on a google map window to the exact point where he needs the installation.

Also add the ability to add the service to the form automatically after a client selected the sign up button under a package on the company website.

e.g When a client brows the options listed on the website and select it, it should automatically add it to the form when redirected to the sign up form.

This form should also be easy to change because most websites these day are interactive websites and need to accommodate all type of devices.

The standard sign up widget that works with a script is a good starting point and can easily be added to a website but this need to have more customize able features like changing the layout adding a google map window, automatically add the service to the form, comments etc.

For situations where a customer wants to cancel their contract early, it would be cool for the system to auto calculate each month how much is left owing.

Currently, when we've had early cancellation situations we manually calculate the amount that the customer owes and create a one-time invoice.

Example: Each month the original cancellation fee would reduce by $xx and this amount would be displayed for internal use. No more room for error on manual calculations required, no potential errors from our team members and upon cancellation an invoice auto generates to that customer with $xx x however many months remaining.

Billing rules for new customers

We'd like to be able to configure billing rules for new clients. We invoice clients converted from lead to customer between the 1st and 19th of the month on the 20th for the prorate of the current month and the full next month. Clients who are converted between the 20th and 31st of the month are billed on the 1st day of the following month for the prorate and the next month. Then, for clients billed on the 1st we debit their bank accounts by the 5th.

It would be helpful to have some wat to customize or automate this by means of billing rules which will then generate a billing preview automatically based on the criteria set in the rules.

When signing in to splynx, I can't see what requires my attention and as a result I lose touch with what is happening within the business and this sometimes lead to upset clients and clients threatening with cancellation.

I can imagine that I am not the only person with this issue. It would make my life much easier if I were able to customize my Dashboard, which is the very first screen I see when I log in to Splynx, to show me exactly the things I need to be monitoring constantly.

Just seeing the number of open tickets is not sufficient for me. I'd like to see which of those tickets require my attention and are assigned to me, and also be able to see on the same screen which leads that are assigned to me are in what lead stages. Having to click around in the system in order to see important info is costing me time and money.

Some KPI's on the dashboard screen would also be a great addition. E.g. new leads this week. Converted leads this week. New tickets this week and so on.

The gist of this request: Design a grid-based dashboard with widgets which I can choose and move around as I need them. This will save me time, money and improve my customer satisfaction too.

An added bonus: Make all of this available in an app.

Number of calls made across customer base = 10,000 multiply by Profit per min (£0.10)

This means the profit for this call type is £1000.00

We also use it as a sanity check to make sure we quickly resolve any pricing errors.

If we see that the profit is lower than expected (say 30% profit) then it highlights this.

We are partnered with various fibre and microwave providers. When we are working a new lead it is often necessary to get feasibility from several network providers. It can be difficult to track feedback from all the providers and to keep track of which providers you have asked and who has responded.

As part of the CRM, it would be very helpful if we were able to select whoch of our providers we would like to ask for feasibility, then type up a request and have solynx automatically mail it to the contact persons at the providers. They could then respond to the request by clicking a link in tue email. This will take them to a response page where they can write up their solution with pricing. Splynx then keeps track of who has responded.

A bonus would be if we could then award the deal to a particular provider

Currently, managing the payment reminders are a bit tricky and it would be great if the interface could change to allow creation of rules based on certain criteria. For instance, if a client has an outstanding account balance of R100 or more or if a client is using payment method Debit order 1st then reminders should be sent 13 days after invoice or better yet, on the 5th day of the month.

The current interface allows only for payment reminders to be sent based on the invoice date but it would be helpful if it were possible to select specific dates or days in the month, be able to add more than 3 dates and have a custom email for each or some of the dates.

This should also apply to automatic blocking. Clients on debit order should be treated differently than those who make EFT payments

For example, a lot of times customers have more than 1 phone number. Need more phone fields. Also, we need more information fields: What does the customer want to use the internet for? If there was a checklist all of the customer support people would ask the same questions and the data would all be obtained.

I would like to suggest that Splynx has the option to duplicate ppp secrets and queues to multiple routers with a single entry. Example: If you create a new account (ppp) on Splynx, it will be create via the API on Router A with ip 1.2.3.4 and will automatically duplicate the entry to Router B with ip 5.6.7.8 if you set it up to do so. This will allow for auto fail overs to be managed SO much easier.


Add address lists on another (core) router instead of High Site router.

We found the CPU on high site routers increasing by 3 to 4 times with filter rules and Queues being done on them, We have managed to get all the Queues on the core router by selecting the core router under "Shaper" and disabling "enable shaper" in mikrotik API, but we cannot move the filter rules to the core as Splynx does not have an option to push the blocked customers IP addreses to another router.

Ideally, the scenario would be similar to requests I get a lot from Clients:

A Splynx Partner Account is actually a reseller for a ISP and its services. This Partner Account gets credited by the ISP ("Master" Partner in Splynx) for a certain amount of money. The Reseller then can topup, pay invoices, create Vouchers, Refill cards until his deposit amount has become zero. He also receives his commission on invoices his client pay directly to one of the ePayment methods or If he receives money via cash. He creates the payments and then receives this commission as well.

The commission is a transaction which is added to his partner account.

He can use this again to topup customers or request a Payout to him on demand.

This is a fairly important feature of a Billing System. We can in many cases not deploy the Splynx Billing engine in lack of this feature.

Allow transfer unused data between services/customers

I got some extra info on the “data transfer issues” Seems like with all our capped clients we must have an option to transfer data from one account to a another. So if client A has 50 gig monthly account and decides to transfer once off 10gig to another “client B” he she can do so. Even with top-up data they must have the same option. I don’t know how ISACA would like us to keep track of this but according to our ISACA support we can make this a admin request only, so client must notify us directly per email and request the data transfer (this will not be a client self-serve option) We now probably need any transferred data to show in a different colour than normal and top-up data. Also the client portal for “Client A” will need to show how many data and to whom data was transfer to. Also “Client B” should be able to see the new transferred data and from were the data came from. Please let me know it you need more input on this matter.
